Hé! Sarko! Casse-toi! [*]
[ get rid of Sarkozy -> check
]For English speakers: this is a satyrical song by Gérard Lenorman where he makes fun of politics in general. This is the first verse (I didn't have the time to translate earlier) - the members of his government are all cartoon characters : «Once upon a time / At the artists' entrance / A small blond boy was looking sad / He was expecting from me a magic phrase / I told him simply : If I was President / If I was President of the Republic / No child would ever have sad thoughts / I'd name Mickey of course as Prime-Minister / Of my government, if I was President / Simplet at Culture seems to me obvious / Tintin at Internal affairs and Scrooge at Finances / Zorro at Justice and Minnie at Dance / Would you be happy if I was President? / Tarzan would be Minister for Ecology / Bécassine at Commerce, Maya the bee at Industry / I would nationalize all pastry shops / Opposition nowhere, if I was President»

Cartoon © Chapleau , La Presse[*] «casse-toi» = «get lost». Sarkozy once yelled "Casse-toi, pauvre con!" (Get lost, stupid idiot) to a heckler.

A government of cartoon and fairy tale characters would be so much better than what we all have.
Hollande (Not the Netherlands) said the he goes for a change - Changement. Did I hear this before? he could have said he wanted the country to go forward. Where? there, follow your nose that is forward and if you make a u-turn, it will always be forward.Like closing Guantanamo bay.
I'm mixing thing again.
He says he wants everybody to retire at 60 years old .... he is 55, so in 5 years he could retire. The point is: Who pays? who has the money to pay, because someone has to pay, always. By the way I retired at 65, so what now? can I go back in time to retire early? Of course I'm not in France not in italy and not in Greece.
He is for euthanasie too, I hope it will of a free choice. A easy way to get read of the old.
I'm happy Sarko is gone. Carla can go back again to her business and probably divorce him. By the way it is not funny that the previous candidate for the socialist party was the ex-wife of Hollande? and the Strauss-Kahn should have been president instead of Hollande if not got hot handed with a cleaning lady in a New hotel.
You don't need to buy fiction books anymore: just read the news.
@carlo - I read in my paper today an interesting column about the change maybe being much more in the discarding for the first time in the history of the "5e République" of the concept of "president-king". We'll have to wait and see in a few years what happens in this respect.
I agree with you. Politics these days are often surrealistic. I would add, also tragic in some way. So much is being destroyed for very short term considerations, leaving a planet in ruins and emptied of its resources for the future generations.
Allemagne 1933 .
Amitié
Michel
